I want an acoustic guitar sound on an electric guitar. How can I do that?
I’m a singer/songwriter and usually play a Classical guitar because they are the easiest acoustics to play. Now, due to muscle problems and a recent car accident that sprained both wrists, I may have to switch to a short scale electric guitar, or stop playing all together.
The problem is I that I also want an acoustic or hybrid acoustic/electric sound. I also don’t want to spend $ 2,000 for an arch top Jazz guitar that may not give me the neck I need or the sound I want.
Is there a box or effects petal that I can add to a regular electric guitar to get the sound I want?
Can I ADD an acoustic pickup to an electric guitar?
Is there a company that already makes what I’m looking for (easiest to play, acoustic/electric sound)?
I’m currently looking at the Carvin AE185 or TL60/SC90.

I wrote this “song” for a friend at Oxford University by the name of Seiji Kojima, back in 1975. The notes of the melody reflect the sound of his name. I have since discovered that he is now the Japanese ambassador to Pakistan – how things move on!
